Re-Creation

Based on real events, this crime drama centers on a fictional trial regarding the 1996 murder of French filmmaker Sophie Toscan Du Plantier. The plot follows twelve jurors as they debate the guilt of journalist Ian Bailey. The story focuses on the internal discussions of the jury, specifically highlighting a woman who questions the official version of events and resists an immediate verdict of guilt, putting her in conflict with another juror. The movie was directed and written by David Merriman and Jim Sheridan. For Sheridan, this project follows his previous work, which includes My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown, The Field, In the Name of the Father, The Boxer, In America, Get Rich or Die Tryin', Brothers, Dream House, The Secret Scripture, and Peter O'Toole: Along the Sky Road to Aqaba.
