Federer: Twelve Final Days is a documentary about the closing stretch of Roger Federer's professional tennis career. Filmed over the last twelve days before his retirement, it follows him as he prepares for and plays his final tournament, with his family close by and with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray also appearing. The footage began as a private home video that was never meant to be shown publicly, and it presents Federer in a candid, unguarded light as he says goodbye to the sport and to the crowds who followed him for two decades.
The film is directed by Asif Kapadia, working alongside Joe Sabia, and produced by George Chignell and Kapadia. It sits late in Kapadia's filmography, after documentary portraits such as Senna, Amy and Diego Maradona and the fiction features Far North and Creature. Its cast of twenty-four credited people is built around Federer himself, his wife Mirka and his son Leo, together with his three rivals.
Released in June 2024, the documentary runs 88 minutes and was produced in the United Kingdom by Lafcadia Productions. Audiences have responded warmly: on IMDb it holds 7.3 out of 10 from around 4,500 votes, and on TMDB it holds 7.3 out of 10 from a much smaller group of 79 votes, so the two scores agree closely despite the difference in how many people rated it.
