The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening

Birdie and Alden grow closer as a couple, bound in part by their shared enthusiasm for true-crime podcasts. Their hobby turns personal when the host of the podcast they follow dies, and the pair join Officer Newton in looking into the people surrounding the case.

The film is a comedy mystery television movie from Canada, produced by Two 4 The Money Media and running 84 minutes. Mike Rohl directed it from a screenplay by Joel Dovev and Margaux Froley, with Mandy Spencer-Phillips producing. Aimee Garcia plays Birdie and Paul Campbell plays Alden, while Matt Hamilton appears as Officer Newton. Philip Granger and Meghan Heffern round out the main cast.

The film belongs to a busy stretch in Rohl's directing career. It followed several romantic comedies, including three films in the Princess Switch series, A Christmas Miracle for Daisy and Married by Mistake, and arrived in the same year as Falling Together. It was released on 13 September 2024 and has an IMDb rating of 6.8 from 774 votes, a solid result for a television mystery. It is the second film in the Mystery Lane series, following The Cases of Mystery Lane, which introduced Birdie and Alden.
