Julie Johnson

Julie Johnson is a New Jersey housewife whose routine life leaves her unfulfilled. She is sharper than the people around her suspect, and perhaps sharper than she realizes herself. Enrolling in a computer class gives her a chance to test abilities she had not put to use, and the experience pushes her toward rethinking her marriage, her family and what she wants next. Her close friend Claire supports her through these changes, and the bond between the two women deepens as both pursue lives of their own choosing.

Bob Gosse directed the film, his first feature, from a screenplay he wrote with Wendy Hammond. It came out in January 2001 and runs 93 minutes. Lili Taylor plays Julie, with Courtney Love as Claire, Noah Emmerich as Rick Johnson, Mischa Barton as Lisa Johnson, Gideon Jacobs as Franky Johnson and Patrick Fitzgerald as Mike.
