Love is Evil

A charismatic burglar named Maksim finds himself in a precarious situation after borrowing money from dangerous criminals. While committing a robbery, he encounters Eva, the owner of the apartment, who has returned home unexpectedly. Driven by the pain of a betrayal by her boyfriend, Eva attempts to destroy her possessions with fire and take her own life. Maksim intervenes to stop her, hoping that saving the woman will help him avoid further complications with his creditors.

This Russian comedy was produced by K.B.A. and co-directed by Gayk Asatryan and Denis Gulyar. For both directors, this 2024 release followed Manyunya: Adventures in Moscow and preceded Manyunya: Adventures in the Village, Adventures of the Yellow Suitcase, and Living Book. The screenplay was written by Gayk Asatryan and Oksana Seropyan, with Sarik Andreasyan and Gevond Andreasyan serving as producers. The film stars Nikita Kologrivyi as Maksim and Katerina Kovalchuk as Eva, with Vladimir Sychev and Anna Ardova appearing as Eva's parents.
