Short description
War Machine is an action thriller that follows a combat engineer during a demanding final assignment in Army Ranger training. To ensure the survival of his unit, he must lead his soldiers in a battle against a massive killing machine from another world.
The film was directed by Patrick Hughes, who also co-wrote the screenplay with James Beaufort and James McFay. This production is the sixth film in Hughes' directorial career, following The Man from Toronto. It is a joint venture between the United States and Australia, produced by companies including Lionsgate and Emu Creek Pictures. The movie features a cast of 41 credited actors, led by Alan Ritchson, Stephan James, Blake Richardson, Dennis Quaid, Esai Morales, and Jai Courtney.

What's left behind the scenes
- Alan Ritchson, who played the lead role, performed many of his own stunts. This includes the underwater scenes, where the actor had to hold his breath for two minutes.
