What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place in Moscow and Turkey. The main scenes in Turkey were shot in Anamur, a port city near Alanya. A key location was Mamure Fortress, a genuine historical monument from the Roman era, later used by the Ottomans as a caravansary. The maritime scenes were also filmed in Anamur. One of the major finds for the Turkish block of filming was the frigate 'Standart'.
- Almost all the stunts in the Turkish block were performed by the actors themselves.
- During filming, a field sewing production was set up beneath the fortress walls, operating non-stop.
