Short description
Disclosure Day is a science fiction thriller centered on the revelation that extraterrestrial life exists on Earth. The story follows a cybersecurity professional who turns whistleblower after discovering corporate secrets about aliens. He teams up with a meteorologist who has witnessed unexplained events to expose the truth to the public while avoiding those attempting to cover up the discovery.
The film was directed by Steven Spielberg and is the 40th film in his chronological body of work, following The Fabelmans. Written by David Koepp, the movie stars Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor, with a supporting cast that includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell. Produced by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, the production had a budget of 115 million USD and earned 241 million USD at the worldwide box office.

- In the summer of 2023, Steven Spielberg wrote a screenplay over two months, which was subsequently refined by screenwriter David Kepner. Kepner proposed 42 versions of the script.
- Steven Spielberg was inspired to create the film by a 2017 article from The New York Times titled "Glowing Auras and 'Black Money' — The Pentagon's Mysterious U.F.O. Program."
- Josh O'Connor was struggling with one emotional scene. In the evening, he received a message from Steven Spielberg: "The door is on the latch, just push." The actor assumed it was about the scene with the door. The next morning, he thanked Spielberg for the idea and said he would now push the door first. Spielberg laughed and explained that his wife, Kate Capsho, had texted him saying she forgot her keys, and he had accidentally sent the reply to the wrong person.
