Greedy

Greedy is a 1994 American comedy about the McTeague family, who have spent years hovering around their wealthy, childless uncle Joe in the hope of inheriting his fortune. Their plans are unsettled by Molly, the young nurse who has become close to the old man, and by the arrival of Daniel, a favourite nephew with no interest in playing along with the family's schemes.

Jonathan Lynn directed the film, which sits between The Distinguished Gentleman and Sgt. Bilko in a run of comedies he made from the mid-1980s onward, following Clue and My Cousin Vinny. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel wrote the screenplay, and Brian Grazer produced it for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Kirk Douglas plays Uncle Joe, with Michael J. Fox as Daniel, Nancy Travis as Robin, Olivia d'Abo as Molly and Phil Hartman and Ed Begley Jr. among the thirty-two credited cast.

Released in March 1994, the film took about 13 million dollars worldwide, a modest return. On IMDb it holds 6.3 out of 10 from roughly 17,000 votes, while on TMDB it rates 6.2 from close to 300 votes. A critics' score of 4.6 from 18 reviews places it well below those audience figures.
