2020

A young couple, Anya and Kostya, begin the year 2020 with hopes of finding a new life together. Kostya is currently unemployed and wants to find work abroad or on a shift basis so he can take Anya with him. However, their plans are disrupted by the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Because Anya works at an infectious diseases hospital, the ensuing lockdown leaves her trapped at her workplace. While Anya is isolated at the hospital, Kostya deals with the broader societal impact of the epidemic, including widespread fear and the loss of loved ones. Their forced separation serves as a difficult trial that lasts for a full year.
