Hard Boiled Recipe is a Japanese action thriller built around Chiaki Mayumura, a performer whose career spans singing, songwriting, idol work and business. The film centres on the tension and conflict that drive its suspense-driven story, with Mayumura taking the lead role in a tight, fast-moving narrative. It runs just 71 minutes, a length that suits the focused, high-pressure tone the genre suggests.

The film was released on 26 April 2024. It was directed by Moto Matsuura, who also wrote the screenplay, giving the project a single creative voice across both its direction and its script. Mayumura's presence in the lead is the film's defining feature, bringing a figure known for several public roles into a dramatic part that departs from that background.

Hard Boiled Recipe is a compact genre piece rather than a large-scale production, and its short running time reflects that. Made for a Japanese release in spring 2024, it pairs Mayumura with Matsuura's writing and direction, an arrangement in which the two central collaborators shape a thriller that relies on pace and atmosphere instead of length or scale.
