I Died in Irpin

An animated film centered on the experiences of Anastasia, who traveled from Kyiv to Irpin on February 24, 2022. The story follows the ten days she and her partner spent in the blockaded city before narrowly escaping via the final evacuation convoy. The narrative explores the lasting psychological impact of these events, focusing on the persistent feeling that a part of her died during the occupation.

Directed and written by Anastasiia Falileieva, who also provides the voice for the narrator, this short production is a co-production between Ukraine, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. It was produced by Artichoke, MAUR film, and PLASTIC BAG STUDIO. The film has a total runtime of 11 minutes and was released on May 7, 2025.
