A woman named Hannah travels to Amsterdam with her non-binary teenage child, Frances, to visit Hannah's gay father, Jimpa. The family dynamic is strained when Frances expresses a wish to live with their grandfather for one year. This request conflicts with Hannah's views on parenting and compels her to deal with unresolved issues and grievances from her own past.
The drama was directed by Sophie Hyde, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Matthew Cormack. This production followed her 2022 film Good Luck to You, Leo Grande. The film features Olivia Colman in the role of Hannah, alongside John Lithgow as Jimpa and Aud Mason-Hyde as Frances, with a total credited cast of 45 performers. The project was a multi-national effort involving production companies from Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, and the Netherlands Antilles.
Since its release on February 6, 2026, the film has received a moderate reception from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 5.6 based on 519 votes, while on TMDB it has a higher score of 6.7 from 8 votes.
