Set on an estate near Seville, this romantic comedy centers on the conflicts arising within the household of Count Almaviva. While the Count's servant Figaro prepares to marry Susanna, the Count intends to seduce her on their wedding night. This tension is compounded by the presence of Cherubino, a young page who harbors feelings for the Countess and faces dismissal after being found with the gardener's daughter, Barbarina.

The production was directed by David McVicar, who also directed Royal Opera House: Andrea Chénier in 2024 and Royal Ballet & Opera 2025/26: The Magic Flute in 2026.
