Atomic People

Atomic People is a documentary that examines the aftermath of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. Through a combination of archival footage and personal testimonies from the few remaining survivors, the film explores the hardships these individuals faced following the attacks. It further details the subsequent growth of global movements dedicated to opposing the use of nuclear weapons and warns of the continued dangers associated with such weaponry.

The film was produced in the United Kingdom by Minnow Films and co-directed by Benedict Sanderson and Megumi Inman. This project marks the first directed work for both Sanderson and Inman according to available records. The cast features survivors Iwanaga Chiyoko and Kiyomi Iguro appearing as themselves, along with archival footage of figures such as Winston Churchill, J. Robert Oppenheimer, John Wayne, and Adolf Hitler. Megumi Inman also served as a producer alongside Naoto Miyamoto.
