20 Days in Mariupol

This documentary follows a team of Ukrainian journalists from the Associated Press who became trapped in Mariupol during the start of the Russian invasion. As the only international reporters remaining in the besieged city, they worked to record the humanitarian crisis and various atrocities. Their footage captures events such as the bombing of a maternity hospital, the efforts of local doctors, and the discovery of mass graves, while examining the role of journalism in a conflict zone.

The film was directed and written by Mstyslav Chernov, who also appears as the narrator and interviewer. It is the first of two films listed in his directorial chronology, followed by 2000 Meters to Andriivka.
