The investigation centers on Kieran Kelly, a 53-year-old homeless man with a history of petty theft and other minor crimes. After being detained for stealing, Kelly was placed in a cell where another man was killed. During police questioning, Kelly calmly admitted to the crime, though his confession led detectives toward unexpected developments.
