Relentless Memory is a documentary that follows Margarita, a Mapuche academic, as she seeks to uncover the suppressed history of her ancestors. After finding forgotten records in a Berlin museum, including the diary of a prisoner of war named Katrulaf, Margarita travels along the deportation routes used during the nineteenth-century military campaigns. Her journey aims to document the genocide and displacement of the Mapuche people during the foundational conflicts of Argentina and Chile.
The film was directed by Paula Rodriguez, who also wrote the screenplay. Produced by Gema Films and Errante Producciones, the project involved producers Paola Castillo and Gema Juárez Allen. This Argentinian and Chilean co-production has a total runtime of 93 minutes.
