The Wolves is a French production that explores the themes of madness and performance across different eras. The story centers on the Château de Saint-Alban, where hunters pursued a beast during the middle of the 18th century. Two hundred years later, the same location becomes the birthplace of a revolutionary psychiatric approach. The narrative links these two periods through a theatrical play staged by medical staff and their patients, which serves as a catalyst for the return of the beast.
The film was written and directed by Isabelle Prim and produced by Emmanuel Chaumet through Ecce Films and Vivarium Studio. The ensemble cast includes Blandine Madec, Charlotte Clamens, Raphaël Thiéry, Marc Susini, Silvia Lippi, and Mélanie Traversier. This 94-minute work blends elements of drama, comedy, and documentary. It was released on March 12, 2025.
