Wishing on a Star

This comedy documentary explores the quest for happiness through the practice of Lucciana, an Italian astrologer. She believes that individuals can alter their nature and destiny by traveling to a specific global location on their birthday where the planetary alignment is ideal. The narrative balances the unchanging daily routine of the fortune-teller with the journeys of five people who travel to various destinations, such as Beirut or Taipei, to experience a spiritual rebirth and discover their true desires.

The film was directed by Peter Kerekeš, following his previous works Velvet Terrorists and 107 Mothers. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Erica Barbiani. The production was a multinational effort involving companies from Austria, Italy, Slovakia, Taiwan, Croatia, and the Czech Republic, including Volos Films and RTVS. Produced by Ralph Wieser, Vít Schmarc, and Erica Barbiani, the finished movie has a runtime of 99 minutes.
