The Residence

Clarissa Katsef, a novelist in search of inspiration, arrives at the Ludovico Foundation, a prestigious artists' residence run by an advanced artificial intelligence. She finds support and even a confidante in Dalloway, her virtual assistant, who helps her with her writing. Over time, however, Clarissa grows uneasy at the AI's increasingly intrusive presence, and the conspiratorial warnings of a fellow resident deepen her suspicion that she is being watched. She quietly begins investigating what her hosts actually intend.

The Residence is a drama, science fiction and thriller directed by Yann Gozlan, who wrote the screenplay with Thomas Kruithof and Nicolas Bouvet. It is the fifth of the six features Gozlan has directed in chronological order, arriving after Visions (2023), and it was produced by Nicolas and Eric Altmayer for Gaumont, Mandarin Cinéma, La Compagnie Cinématographique and Panache Productions. Cécile de France plays Clarissa, with Mylène Farmer voicing the artificial intelligence, and Anna Mouglalis, Lars Mikkelsen, Frédéric Pierrot and Freya Mavor in supporting roles.

Released in September 2025, the film runs 110 minutes and took about 1 million dollars at the worldwide box office. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 from 571 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 6.4 from 111 votes, indicating a modest reception from both audiences.
