Gülizar

Gülizar is a drama centered on a woman and her fiancé, Emre, following a sexual assault she suffered. Instead of reporting the crime to the authorities, Emre chooses to search for the perpetrator on his own. As the couple prepares for their wedding, Gülizar struggles with a heavy silence and the fear that the attacker will be identified. This internal conflict and the surrounding secrecy create a claustrophobic atmosphere that begins to erode the love between the two partners.

The film was written and directed by Belkıs Bayrak, who also served as one of the producers. The production was a collaboration between Turkey and Kosovo, involving Protim Video Production, Saba Film, and Plan Bee Films. The lead roles are played by Ecem Uzun as Gülizar and Bekir Behrem as Emre, with a supporting cast that includes Hakan Yufkacıgil, Ernest Malazogu, Aslı İçözü, and Serdar Bordanacı. Released on September 6, 2024, the movie has a runtime of 84 minutes.
