Mola: A Tibetan Tale of Love and Loss is a documentary about Kunsang Wangmo, a Buddhist nun who fled Tibet in 1959 to escape Chinese occupation. Now one hundred years old and living in Bern, she spends her days in prayer and meditation while remaining a central figure in her close-knit family. As they navigate this bureaucratic process, they document her daily life and their final moments together.
The film was directed by Martin Brauen and Yangzom Brauen, who also co-wrote the screenplay. It is a joint production between the United States and Switzerland, involving production companies Union Editorial, YangZoom Films, and Bunkerville Sagl. The cast features Kunsang Wangmo appearing as herself, alongside Sonam Dolma Brauen and Martin Brauen. Released on September 11, 2025, the documentary has a runtime of 84 minutes.
