Short description

Cicadas is a drama about the bond that forms between two women from different backgrounds. Isabell is a woman struggling with the demands of caring for her elderly parents while her marriage to Philipp faces significant strain. Her life changes when she meets Anja, a single mother working multiple jobs to support herself and her young daughter. As Anja and her child become more integrated into Isabell's daily routine, Isabell begins to feel a loss of control over the stable life she previously built for herself.

The film was written and directed by Ina Weisse, following her 2019 project The Audition. It is a joint production between Germany and France, involving ZDF, Lupa Film, and 10:15! Productions. The movie stars Nina Hoss as Isabell, Saskia Rosendahl as Anja, and Vincent Macaigne as Philipp. Other cast members include Camille Loup Moltzen, Anna Mateur, and Thorsten Merten. The film has a runtime of 100 minutes.
