Open Season 2

Open Season 2 continues the story of Boog the bear and Elliot the deer, who have settled into life among the wild animals of the forest. Elliot is preparing to marry Giselle, but his plans are interrupted when Mr. Weenie, a domesticated dachshund, is taken by a group of pampered pets who intend to return him to his owners. Boog, Elliot, McSquizzy, Buddy and the other forest creatures set out to rescue their friend, a mission that brings them into the unfamiliar world of pets, led by a poodle named Fifi.

The film is directed by Matthew O'Callaghan, whose earlier credits include Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas (2004) and Curious George (2006); it is the third of four features he directed, followed by Coyote Falls (2010). David I. Stern wrote the screenplay, and the voice cast includes Joel McHale as Elliot, Mike Epps as Boog, Cody Cameron as Mr. Weenie, Jane Krakowski as Giselle, Billy Connolly as McSquizzy and Georgia Engel as Bobbie. Twenty-six performers are credited.

Released in 2008 as a direct-to-home-media animated feature running seventy-six minutes, the film earned about nine million dollars worldwide. It holds a 5.5 rating on IMDb from roughly 29,000 votes and a 5.9 on TMDB from about 1,300 votes, indicating a modest reception from audiences.
