- Jean-Claude Van Damme was considered for the role of Jean Vilain's twin brother, Claude Vilain.

- Sylvester Stallone offered Jackie Chan a supporting role, but he declined because he wanted to play one of the leading roles.
- During the filming of a scene in a truck with Jason Statham, an accident occurred – the truck fell into the sea due to brake failure. The actor was unharmed.
