Justice League: The New Frontier

Justice League: The New Frontier is an animated adaptation of Darwyn Cooke's comic series, set in Cold War America during the 1950s. Fear of communism has made the public suspicious even of its costumed heroes, while an unseen force watches the planet from outside. As a growing threat closes in on Earth, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash and the Martian Manhunter must find a way to work together despite their differences and the distrust around them, forming the group that becomes the Justice League. The film traces the origins of that team.

Dave Bullock directed the film from a screenplay by Stan Berkowitz, with Berkowitz and Darwyn Cooke producing. The voice cast includes David Boreanaz as Hal Jordan, Miguel Ferrer as J'onn J'onzz, Neil Patrick Harris as Barry Allen, Kyle MacLachlan as Superman, Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman and John Heard as Ace Morgan, among 25 credited performers. Made on a budget of about 4 million dollars, it took in roughly 5 million worldwide. It runs 75 minutes.

Audience ratings sit at 6.8 out of 10 on IMDb across some 22,000 votes and 6.8 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller pool of 574 votes. The two agree closely, and the large gap in vote counts reflects the difference in the size of each site's user base rather than any disagreement about the film.
