Howl

Howl is a documentary that focuses on the person who translated the poem of the same name into Turkish. Accompanied by a musician, the subject reflects on the reading traditions of the Beat Generation. The film serves as a tribute to the spirits of those lands and to authors such as William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, and Allen Ginsberg, while referencing the year 1965 and Wholly Communion.

The film was written and directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin, marking the first entry in a list of five directed works that includes later projects like Miracle in Cell No. 7 and the Atatürk series. Produced by Mehmet Ada Öztekin and Kaan Çaydamlı, the short film features Mevlana İdris on the reed flute and Can Gox on the guitar. This Turkish production was released on May 22, 2008, with a total runtime of 33 minutes.
