Pretty Persuasion

Kimberly Joyce, a wealthy and calculating teenager in Beverly Hills, sets out to become famous by any means available. After losing a role in a school production, she and two classmates accuse their English and drama teacher of sexual harassment, an allegation that pulls in the news media, lawyers and ambitious outsiders while friendships and families around them come apart.

Marcos Siega directed the film from a screenplay by Skander Halim, with Todd Dagres, Siega and Matt Weaver producing. It was Siega's first feature, arriving before Underclassman and Chaos Theory. Evan Rachel Wood leads as Kimberly, alongside Selma Blair, Jane Krakowski, Stark Sands, Elisabeth Harnois and Jaime King. The production credits 34 cast members.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.4 from around 11,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.8 from about 150 votes. A critics' rating of 5.1 from 80 reviews places it below both audience figures. The wide gap in voter numbers between the two audience platforms suggests a modest but durable following rather than broad popularity.
