Out for Justice

Gino Felino is a Brooklyn detective who has spent his whole life in the neighborhood and knows its streets and its people. When his partner is shot dead in broad daylight in front of his family, the killer turns out to be Richie Madano, a childhood friend of Gino's who has become a violent criminal. As Madano and his crew leave a trail of destruction across Brooklyn, Gino sets out to track him down personally, while Madano's own associates lose their ability to control him.

The film was directed by John Flynn, the seventh of the nine features listed in his filmography, following Lock Up and preceding Brainscan, and was written by R. Lance Hill. Steven Seagal plays Gino and also produced alongside Arnold Kopelson; William Forsythe plays Richie Madano, with Jerry Orbach, Jo Champa, Shareen Mitchell and Sal Richards among the main cast. The production cost about 14 million dollars and took roughly 40 million dollars worldwide. Audience ratings are mixed: on IMDb it holds 6.1 out of 10 from around 28,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.2 out of 10 from more than 500 votes. A critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 across 22 reviews places it clearly below the audience scores, indicating a largely unfavorable critical response against moderate viewer approval.
