Set in 1979, this black comedy follows Corporal Rudy Spruance, a soldier who is sent to a remote Arctic military base due to a clerical error. Upon arrival, Rudy discovers that the facility officially does not exist and is managed by an unstable colonel. While attempting to escape the desolate environment, he becomes involved with the colonel's partner and uncovers a classified military secret that the Pentagon intends to keep hidden. Rudy soon realizes that he is surrounded by eccentric individuals and that his efforts to correct the mistake of his deployment are futile.

The film was directed by Saul Metzstein, marking the first of two credited directing projects, followed by Doctor Who: The Snowmen in 2012. The screenplay was written by John Paul Chapple and Steve Attridge. The cast features Jason Biggs as the protagonist, alongside Natascha McElhone, Jeremy Northam, Sean Tucker, Hilmir Snær Guðnason, and Harry Strandjofski.
