Ultimate Avengers: The Movie

Captain America, frozen in the North Atlantic since the final days of World War II, is found and revived decades later by S.H.I.E.L.D., the secret organization led by Nick Fury. Fury wants him for a new initiative: a team of superhumans meant to defend the planet against a coming threat. The film follows the assembly of that team, which includes Iron Man, Thor, Giant Man, the Wasp and Black Widow, and the difficulty of turning very different personalities into a working unit. The story draws on the early issues of the Ultimates line of Marvel comics.

Ultimate Avengers: The Movie was released directly to video in 2006 and runs 72 minutes. It was directed by Curt Geda, Steven E. Gordon and Bob Richardson, from a screenplay by Greg Johnson, and the voice cast includes Justin Gross as Steve Rogers, Grey DeLisle, Nolan North, Olivia d'Abo, Marc Worden and Michael Massee. For Geda it followed two Batman animated features; for Gordon it was his first directing credit, ahead of later animated work; Richardson had directed a Spider-Man release the year before and went on to the sequel to this film.

The film is an animated action adventure produced in the United States, with a worldwide box office of about 7 million dollars. On IMDb it holds 6.6/10 from 14,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.9/10 from 411 votes, indicating a generally favorable but not enthusiastic response from viewers.
