The Factory

The Factory is a Brazilian drama centered on the relationship between a mother and her incarcerated son. As Lindalva prepares food for a visiting day, her son Metruti dresses in his finest clothes to receive her. The central conflict arises from Metruti's urgent need to make a phone call, leading Lindalva to risk smuggling a mobile phone into the prison facility.

Directed and written by Aly Muritiba, this short film was released in 2011. It followed his 2010 project A Revolta and preceded Circular, which also came out in 2011. The production was handled by Grafo Audiovisual, with Muritiba serving as a producer alongside Antônio Junior and Marisa Merlo. The cast features Eloina Duvoisin Ferreira in the role of Lindalva and Andrew Knoll as Metruti, with supporting performances by Louise Forghieri, Ludmila Nascarella, Arnaldo Silveira, and Marcel Szymanski.
