Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is Quentin Tarantino's complete version of the story he originally intended as a single film. A woman known as The Bride, a former member of the assassin squad led by her lover Bill, survives an attack on her wedding day that leaves her in a coma for four years and costs her the child she was carrying. When she wakes, she sets out to track down and take revenge on each of the people responsible, Bill last among them. The film moves between martial arts, samurai and western traditions as it follows her across the list of targets.

The cast is led by Uma Thurman as The Bride, with David Carradine as Bill, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen and Daryl Hannah as the other members of the squad. Tarantino wrote the screenplay and Lawrence Bender produced; the film was made through Miramax, A Band Apart and Super Cool ManChu. It runs 254 minutes, with 69 credited cast and 71 credited crew members.

Material from the two Kill Bill volumes was combined and shown at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles, where it premiered in March 2011. Within Tarantino's filmography it follows Inglourious Basterds and precedes Django Unchained. On IMDb it holds 8.7/10 from more than 44,000 votes, and on TMDB 8.1/10 from over 1,400.
