Tony and Tia are twins with unusual origins and paranormal abilities, able to move objects with their minds. After leaving the mountain refuge where they had been living, they arrive in Los Angeles, where Tony is kidnapped by Victor Gannon and his accomplice Letha Wedge, who want to exploit the boy's powers for a criminal scheme that puts the city at risk. Tia turns to a group of local children for help and sets out to rescue her brother.
Return from Witch Mountain is a Walt Disney Productions adventure directed by John Hough. It is the sequel to Escape to Witch Mountain, which Hough had directed three years earlier, and it continued a run of genre films he made during the 1970s before later titles such as The Watcher in the Woods and Biggles. Malcolm Marmorstein wrote the screenplay, and Ron Miller and Jerome Courtland produced. The cast is led by Bette Davis and Christopher Lee as the villains, with Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann returning as the twins, alongside Jack Soo and Anthony James among 38 credited performers.
The film was released in March 1978 and runs 95 minutes. It earned about 6 million dollars worldwide, a modest return for a Disney release of the period. On IMDb it holds 5.7 out of 10 from roughly 6,100 votes, while on TMDB it has 5.9 out of 10 from about 245 votes.
