Broken Voices

Set in the early 1990s, this drama and thriller centers on Valerie, a talented thirteen-year-old singer who earns a place in an elite girls' choir. While joining the prestigious ensemble allows her to perform alongside her older sister and other rivals, it also brings her under the influence of a demanding and admired choirmaster. As Valerie seeks professional recognition and the favor of the conductor, the relationship evolves into a conflict between childhood innocence and the abuse of authority.

The film was written and directed by Ondřej Provazník and produced by Jiří Konečný. It is a co-production between the Slovak and Czech companies CinemArt and Sumerian Records. The cast features Kateřina Falbrová in the lead role of Valerie, with Juraj Loj playing Vít Mácha and Maya Kintera appearing as Lucie. Other cast members include Zuzana Šulajová, Marek Cisovský, and Anna Michalcová. Released on July 10, 2025, the movie has a runtime of 104 minutes.
