This documentary film essay explores the persistent human desire for immortality and the various ways people cope with mortality. It examines how modern figures, such as evolutionary biologists and influencers, have succeeded philosophers and poets in investigating the nature of existence. The narrative features Zoltan Istvan, a cryonics laboratory director and US presidential candidate who advocates for immortality as a basic human right, and looks at traditional festivals in Russia centered on the cult of death. Through these examples, the film analyzes the metaphorical and fetishistic ways death is represented.
Dāvis Sīmanis Jr. directed the film, which follows his 2024 work, Maria's Silence. The project was produced by Guntis Trekteris and written by Uldis Tīrons. A co-production between Latvia and the Czech Republic, the film was produced by Ego Media and Kuli Film. It was released on January 13, 2026, with a total runtime of 67 minutes.
