Steal This Story, Please!

This documentary follows Amy Goodman, an independent investigative journalist based in New York. For several decades, Goodman has reported from various global conflict zones, including Gaza, Nigeria, Morocco, and East Timor, as well as covering the Iraq War and the events of September 11. The film examines her work alongside a small team in producing Democracy Now!, a daily news program broadcast via radio, television, and the internet. Since its start in 1996, the program has operated without government funding, relying instead on contributions from foundations, donors, and its audience.

The film was directed by Carl Deal and Tia Lessin and produced by Doc Society. It features appearances by Amy Goodman, Juan Gonzalez, Jeremy Scahill, Nermeen Shaikh, and Dave Isay, all appearing as themselves.
