Foxing: Kitsuné-tsuki

Shinano is a character designer struggling with a repetitive daily routine and a sense of isolation, exacerbated by a commercial work environment and a lack of connection on social media. Her life changes when Koyami, a fox-masked figure from her early sketches, manifests in the real world alongside other forgotten drawings. As the boundary between her imagination and reality fades, Shinano explores her own subconscious. She eventually recognizes these characters as reflections of her own loneliness and decides to accept these feelings while continuing her creative work.

Produced by Toei Animation, this Japanese fantasy animation was directed and written by Takeru Shinozuka. The short film has a runtime of 15 minutes and features Miho Wataya providing the voices for Shinano, Koyami, and IF. The film was released on July 18, 2026.
