Do You Love Me

Do You Love Me is a documentary that explores the collective memory and psyche of Lebanon. Using exclusively archival materials such as home videos, photographs, television broadcasts, and films spanning seven decades, the film creates an emotional portrait of Beirut. It examines the contrast between intimacy and joy against destruction and loss, framing creative expression as a tool for renewal and resistance in a nation lacking a national archive. Through the perspectives of artists, filmmakers, and ordinary citizens, the project reconstructs a fragmented history of the region.

The film was directed by Lana Daher, who also served as a producer and co-writer alongside Qutaiba Barhamji. A co-production between Germany, Qatar, Lebanon, and France, the project was produced by Wood Water Films, Films de Force Majeure, and My Little Films. Released on May 7, 2026, the documentary has a runtime of 75 minutes.
