Set in Chicago during the 1980s and 1990s, this documentary follows the life of Kevin Matthews. As a prominent radio personality, Matthews lived a high-profile lifestyle surrounded by athletes and celebrities. This success ended when a debilitating medical diagnosis caused him to lose his public standing. During a period of personal struggle, the discovery of a damaged statue of the Virgin Mary led to a spiritual transformation. Matthews shifted his focus toward helping others find hope and inspiration, adopting the persona of Mary's Roadie.
The film was directed by Jonathan Cipiti, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Katie Reidy. This project is the second film Cipiti has directed, following his 2020 work, Pray: The Story of Patrick Peyton. Produced by ODB Films, Windrider Productions, and Family Theater Productions, the documentary features Kevin Matthews appearing as himself, along with an appearance by Mancow Muller. The film has a runtime of 95 minutes.
