The Cycle of Love tells the story of P. K. Mahanandia, a street artist from Delhi who, in 1977, set out on a 6,000-mile bicycle journey across continents to be reunited with the woman he loved. Blending documentary and romance, the film follows this long-distance ride as an act of devotion, tracing the pull between two people separated by geography and circumstance.
Orlando von Einsiedel directs, following his earlier documentaries Virunga (2014) and The Lost Children (2024). The film is a co-production between the United Kingdom, India, the United States and Sweden, made by Grain Media and Purple Pebble Pictures, and runs 98 minutes. P. K. Mahanandia and Lotta von Schedvin appear as themselves, while Chirag Lobo and Mina Dale portray the younger versions of the pair in dramatised passages.
Released on 28 August 2026, the film rests on the contrast between an intimate love story and an epic physical undertaking, using the real participants alongside actors to carry the account across the distance the journey covered.
