Set in São Paulo in 1983, this comedy follows a group of rebellious women who establish the Gayvotas Football Club shortly after women's soccer becomes legal in Brazil. As the team gains media attention, the players must navigate their own personal struggles while facing the prejudices of a conservative society and a military dictatorship.

The film was produced by Olympus Filme and co-directed by José Antônio Garcia and Ícaro Martins, who also wrote the screenplay. In the chronological history of their work, this project followed the 1976 film Rock. The cast features Carla Camurati as Rita, Cristina Mutarelli as Lili, Tânia Alves as Helena, Regina Casé as Rubi, Neide Santos as Neneca, and Pita as Jorge, with twenty-one credited performers in total.
