Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody is an animated fantasy film set in Karakura Town, where Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki encounter a sudden influx of unidentified spirits. During the fighting they meet Senna, a shinigami who destroys most of the spirits with ease but refuses to say who she is or where she came from. Ichigo follows her to learn more, while Rukia investigates what is happening. Around the same time, the Soul Society grows troubled, and a state of emergency is declared there.
The film is the first Bleach feature and the fifth film directed by Noriyuki Abe, following earlier work on Yu Yu Hakusho, Ninku and Hunter × Hunter. It precedes his three further Bleach films: The DiamondDust Rebellion, Fade to Black and Hell Verse. The screenplay is by Masashi Sogo, and the voice cast includes Masakazu Morita as Ichigo, Fumiko Orikasa as Rukia and Chiwa Saito as Senna, among roughly forty credited performers and a crew of over ninety.
Released in Japan in December 2006 and running 87 minutes, the film took in about 1 million USD worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.1 from around 5,600 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.9 from roughly 238 votes.
