Holy Destructors is a documentary that explores the natural world of microorganisms, specifically focusing on the growth of mould and fungi. The film juxtaposes these biological processes with museum art depicting Easter processions from various eras. Through the study of priest relics and the restoration of frescoes, the narrative examines themes of fragility, gratitude, and the process of decay.
The film was directed by Aistė Žegulytė, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Vėjūnė Tamuliūnaitė and Licia Eminenti. This production was a collaboration between companies from Lithuania, Latvia, and France, including Locomotive Productions, Studio Uljana Kim, and To Be Continued. Uljana Kim and Migla Butkutė served as the producers for the project. Released on April 10, 2026, the documentary has a runtime of 89 minutes.
