The Abdallah Case

The Abdallah Case is a documentary that examines the life and imprisonment of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a pro-Palestinian communist resistance fighter. Convicted of killing two diplomats and suspected of orchestrating attacks in Paris during the 1980s, Abdallah became the longest-serving political prisoner in France. The film explores the circumstances of his nearly 41-year detention, suggesting that his prolonged incarceration was the result of misinformation, national interests, and political pressure from the United States. It portrays Abdallah as a scapegoat who remained committed to his convictions until his release at age 74.

Directed and written by Pierre Carles, this production follows his previous works, Juppé, forcément... from 1995 and The Farc Guerilla, a History of the Future from 2024. Produced by Annie Gonzalez through C-P Productions, the film features appearances by Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, Jacques Vergès, Rima Hassan, Patrick Bobulesco, Nina Faure, and Carles himself. The historical documentary was released in France on April 8, 2026, with a total runtime of 101 minutes.
