American Skyjacker is a documentary that examines the true story of Martin McNally. In 1972, McNally seized an American Airlines aircraft in an effort to mimic a hijacking carried out by DB Cooper six months earlier. This action triggered a five-day nationwide search by law enforcement and served as the opening to a complex criminal case. The film is a documentary adaptation of the American Skyjacker podcast, which reached the top 20 on Apple Podcasts.
Produced in the United States by Pegalo Pictures, the film was directed by Eli Kooris and Joshua Shaffer, who also wrote the screenplay. This production follows their previous collaboration, Nothingman, released in 2018. The cast features Martin McNally appearing as himself, alongside Logan Spahitz, who portrays a version of McNally, and supporting performances by Kevin Bohleber, Marisa Bertani, Danté Belardinelli, and Angela Barber. The film has a runtime of 98 minutes.
