Mailin

Upcoming documentary Mailin follows a mother who recalls her past while telling a bedtime story to her daughter. The narrative reveals that the woman spent fifteen years as a victim of abuse by a priest. The film focuses on her pursuit of justice and healing, as well as her desire to provide her child with a positive upbringing that she was denied.

The film is written and directed by María Silvia Esteve, who also serves as a producer alongside Alejandra López and Cristina Haneș. This production marks the second film directed by Esteve, following her 2022 work The Spiral. A co-production between France, Romania, and Argentina, the project was created by Hana Films, deFilm, and Ikki Films. The documentary has a runtime of 87 minutes and is scheduled for release on November 27, 2026.
