Night of the Creeps

A canister containing an alien experiment falls to Earth in 1959 and infects a young man, whose body is frozen and stored by campus authorities. Decades later, two students trying to join a fraternity stumble on the corpse and accidentally thaw it. The parasites inside spread across the campus, entering people and turning them into zombies, and a small group of students and a police detective try to stop the outbreak.

Fred Dekker wrote and directed this American comedy horror film, his first feature as director; he went on to make The Monster Squad the following year and RoboCop 3 in 1993. Jason Lively and Steve Marshall play the two students, with Jill Whitlow, Tom Atkins, Wally Taylor and Allan Kayser among the credited cast of 35. It was released in August 1986 and runs 88 minutes.

Made for about 5 million dollars by TriStar Pictures and Delphi V, the film mixes science fiction with horror and comedy.
