Post Impact

In 2012 a meteor strikes the Earth, triggering earthquakes and tidal waves and sending a dust cloud across the Northern Hemisphere that turns much of it into ice. Tom Parker, who was head of security at the American embassy in Berlin, is separated from his wife and child when the disaster hits. Three years later, with Europe frozen and unreachable, he finally gets a chance to return and search for them. What he finds raises questions about whether the meteor shower was a natural event or something caused by human hands.

The film is a German-American television production directed by Christoph Schrewe, who wrote the screenplay with Torsten Dewi and who made it as his first feature, ahead of Zo two decades later. Phillip J. Roth produced. Dean Cain plays Tom Parker, with Bettina Zimmermann as Anna Starndorf, Joanna Taylor as Sarah Henley, Nigel Bennett as Col. Preston Waters, John Keogh as Klaus Hintze and Cheyenne Rushing as Sandra Parker. Made for around three million dollars, it runs ninety minutes and mixes adventure with science fiction.

Audiences have been unenthusiastic: the film holds a rating of 3.3 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 2,600 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 4.6 out of 10 from a much smaller number of 49 votes. Both point to a modest reception for the production.
